Challenge
Friskis&Svettis have 159 local associations that are all independent. Friskis&Svettis needed a website that could serve Friskis&Svettis as a nationwide organization but at the same time have micro sites for each local association.
Process
We engaged the team at Friskis&Svettis in a design thinking process where we created personas, mapped out needs, and built empathy for the users, the association, and the local web editors. After that, we started iterating on the structure of the web and how it scales between the national level and local association level.
On top of this, we built a design system that was integrated with the CMS and easy to use for web editors. It was important that the web editors would understand how to create beautiful web pages with the components. As a final design delivery, we put together examples of how key pages could be represented with the components of the design system.
Friskis.se
On the global website, you can find your local association, learn about the training concepts, get up to date on the latest news, and read about Friskis&Svettis as an organization.
Powered by components
The entire website was built with well-thought-out components and pre-defined content inherited by each microsite. This allowed maximum scalability, and effectivity and made work for the small association easier.
Local associations
On the local association level the user can find what training is available, locations, opening hours, news, and how to become a member.
